The story
Boston, Massachusetts
I took this at a zoo near Boston in January 2025, the morning after fresh snow. Photographing animals in an enclosure sounds easy, but the real wonder was the waiting: hours of it, camera ready, hoping the jaguar would look my way. Then it stepped through the snow and stared straight down the lens, every rosette and whisker sharp against the white.
The bold rosettes make this jaguar jigsaw puzzle a satisfying build, while the soft snow saves a gentle challenge for the end.
