San Juan, Puerto Rico
In November 2024, my dad and I swapped our usual annual road trip for San Juan, Puerto Rico. One night we went to Elevado, a restaurant that serves dinner in the sky: your table is lifted about a hundred feet into the air, looking out over the city. This tunnel of lit steel frames stopped me before we ever left the ground.
The repeating frames and patterned walkway give this San Juan jigsaw puzzle a strong structure to build from, with the dark edges as the final challenge.

San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico and one of the oldest European-founded cities in the Americas. Beyond the blue cobblestones and Spanish forts of Old San Juan, neighborhoods like Condado and Santurce are known for their restaurants, street art and nightlife.
